Solvent-Resistant Capillary Films

Capillex films are precision coated pre-sensitised capillary photostencil films, which are adhered to the mesh with water prior to exposure.

Capillex is available in a variety of thicknesses for use on a wide range of mesh counts. The films are coated onto a 75 micron (3 thou) polyester base.

Knife-cut Stencil Film

Autocut is a water adhering knife-cut film consisting of an amber coloured, synthetic emulsion coated on to a 75 micron (.003”) polyester base of high dimensional stability. It has smooth cutting and easy peel properties and provides excellent visibility for multicoloured artwork.

The four films belonging to the Gelatine Indirect Photostencil range are pre-sensitised films consisting of pigmented gelatine emulsions coated onto a dimensionally stable support.

Masking film

Automask SM3

Masking Films

These films are ideally suited for the Art/Camera and Stencil Preparation Departments for cutting masks and positives. Automask films consist of a non light-sensitive membrane coated onto a clear polyester base. The image is produced by cutting through the transparent tinted emulsion layer and then peeling out the non-image areas.

Photostencil Film

Novostar

Novastar is a pre-sensitised photostencil film consisting of a blue synthetic emulsion coated onto a 50 micron (0.002”) polyester base of high dimensional stability. The film requires no chemical hardening solution. It can be processed in either cold or warm water. Novastar is simple to process and the stencil can be hot air dried when mounted on the screen, to aid rapid screen production. Novastar produces a very flexible tough stencil with excellent solvent resistance, good adhesion to all type of meshes and excellent exposure latitude for good tape edge cover.

Novastar is subject to British Patent Nos BP 1366304 and BP 13707995 and is also patented in other countries.

Solvent Green

Solvent Green is a high quality solvent adhering knife-cut stencil film, consisting of a green plastic coating on a 75 micron (0.003”) dimensionally stable polyester base. The green coating has excellent visibility for multi-coloured artwork and is simple and fast to cut with easy peeling properties. Mistakes can easily be corrected and overcuts close up during adhering.

Washout & Drying

Washout

To ensure that the stencils are properly washed out it is recommended that a strong water spray is used. A weak low pressure spray can lead to incomplete washout especially if the stencil is at all underexposed.

Drying

After removing the excess water with newsprint, dry with cold or warm air or a waterproof vacuum cleaner Thermostatically controlled drying cabinets will give the best, most consistent results.
